Valentine’s Day Weekend Getaway

Filed under: Uncategorized — logging @ 10:16 pm

Valentine’s Day is around the corner so get out your road trip planner and build a romantic weekend getaway for you and your partner.

Infuse the element of surprise into your road trip planning by secretly packing a suitcase and stowing it in the trunk of the car. Admittedly, this works better if it’s the woman who’s doing the surprise. Men generally aren’t as picky as to what they’ll wear out to dinner while women have definite ideas, so men, if you want to keep the road trip a total surprise, I’d recommend on packing at least 3 different outfits for her or pack just the day clothes and add shops to your itinerary to take her shopping for her to choose an outfit to wear out for dinner.

THINGS TO PACK FOR YOUR ROMANTIC GETAWAY(Tip: Copy/paste this section directly into the Trip Notes section of your road trip planner):

* A picnic basket with a wine bottle opener, cutting board, utensils, etc. Stop at a local store to pick up the wine, cheese, crackers. This is also a good time to ask the locals about their favorite spots for a picnic.
* A blanket to take for your picnic in the sun or for night-time star gazing.
* Scented candles for the hotel room.
* Romantic CDs for the hotel room, upbeat CDs for when cruising on the highway.
* A good road map (nothing kills the romantic mood faster than arguing about how you missed the turnoff or why you can’t pull over and ask for directions). However, if you should get lost, view it an adventure and use it as an opportunity to stop for refreshments or pick up a souvenir from your unexpected detour.

WHAT WILL FILL YOUR ROAD TRIP PLANNER?

* You can create a theme for your Romantic Escape like choosing wineries or museums, or outdoor markets, or base it around events like festivals.
*If you’re anywhere near the Finger Lakes Region in New York, check out this detailed blog loaded with details to make this trip a truly romantic getaway.
* If you enjoy wine and vineyards, this blog will give you some great ideas on where to go.
* If you have kids, make sure you check out this page for tips on how to best blend family life with romantic encounters with your spouse.
* Beaches or lakefronts are always romantic backdrops.
* A room with a fireplace adds warmth to the room and a glow to your skin.
* Dressing up for dinner sets the stage for the rest of evening.
* A nice restaurant with a view is a nice touch.
* Walk along Main Street after dinner, and explore those shops that catch your interest.

ROMANTIC THINGS TO DO WHILE ON THE ROAD:

* Red signifies love! Kiss your partner whenever you get stopped by the traffic light!
* Be spontaneous! If you spot a field of wildflowers, pull over and take pictures of each surrounded by color.
* Save the corks from the wine bottles you had with dinner and make a collage with other souvenirs you collect throughout the trip.
* Listen to an audio tape of a book that interests both of you (or have the passenger read it out loud to the driver)
* Sprinkle the restaurant dining table with rose petals when the waiter seats you.
* Create hearts from nature whenever you can and take pictures of them (twigs, rocks, beach sand, stones, flowers, vines, carved into a trail, etc.)

Getting away already puts the ahh in your weekend. Adding romance to your road trip planner adds a sweetness to it that will have you both smiling all weekend.

Dual Agency And Ontario: Understand Your Rights As Buyers And Sellers And The Realtors’ Code Of Ethics

Filed under: Uncategorized — logging @ 6:16 am

Regarding dual agency and Ontario, Canada, both a buyer and seller should be aware of the Code of Ethics that realtors, under the law, are expected to follow when you are purchasing or selling a home through a dual real estate agent, who acts as agent for both the buyer and seller in a real estate transaction. When safeguarding your interests as a buyer or seller of real estate in Ontario, make sure you understand the exact agency relationship that you will establish with those who are sworn to protect your interests; know your rights when working with an agent, and make sure that your agent follows the guidelines of disclosure as they are set out by OREA.

For pre-transaction information regarding these agency relationships, you can use the Dogpile search engine to direct yourself to explanatory sites that define agency relationships, including dual agency and Ontario, as established by the Ontario Real Estate Association. It is advised that you do your homework before you approach an agent to represent your interests in a real estate transaction, particularly one that involves dual agency and Ontario.

If you are still skeptical about dual agency and Ontario at this point, you can find out about warnings regarding “conflicts of interests” that have been reported by news agencies located in Canada, who report concerns voiced by the Ontario government in its review of dual agency (Sean O’Shea and Candice Mak, “Dual Agency: Why Are You Hiring a Double Agent?” Global News Hour, November 28, 2005).

In conclusion, when considering dual agency and Ontario, the old saying of “Let the Buyer Beware” should be of concern to the potential buyer of real estate in Ontario, just to be on the “safe side.”

Filed under: Uncategorized — logging @ 2:16 pm

When it comes to investing in actual estate, the old adage that “timing is everything” truly does apply. If you are interested in property investment in Bulgaria, you should be apprised of property development in Bulgaria that will impact the real estate market, including the availability of houses for exchange in Bulgaria.

Most financial experts and real estate analysts maintain that the present day and age is a perfect metre to make a real property investment in Bulgaria. The underlying reason for the country becoming a prime market for true estate investment centers on a number of new developments that have occurred and that are in the process of occurring over the course of the coming year and a half.
When it comes to belongings development in Bulgaria, one of the most fundamental changes has involved the alteration of the government system in the country. The fundamental change in the command system in Bulgaria has resulted in a loosening of the restrictions that were one in place in regard to the ownership of real estate. Indeed, up until recent years, transatlantic nationals — individuals and companies alike — generally were prohibited from owning real stratum in that country. Foreign property
investment in Bulgaria was generally prohibited.
Since the collapse of the Warsaw Pact, Bulgaria has enchanted a course in which it not only permits foreign investment in the country, but the government has enacted laws designed to encourage strange investment, including foreign ownership of real property.

Perhaps the most substantial of the property development in Bulgaria is the action of that nation towards full membership status in the European Union. Commencing in 2007, Bulgaria will obtain full membership prominence in the European Union. This transition towards membership in the EU is spurring on foreign investment. In point of fact, many foreign nationals are impelling to gain a foothold in real property investment in Bulgaria, including taking advantage of houses for trading in Bulgaria to be used as income generating rental property.

Analysts who have been monitoring the Bulgarian pecuniary and real estate markets over time maintain that the present day and age is the optimal time for eager investors to facilitate a make up for purchases of real estate in the country.

Why You Should Invest In Seattle Real Estate

Filed under: Uncategorized — logging @ 6:16 pm

At some locale in time most regions of the United States go through their growth phases. During the industrial revolution of the 19th century the Northeastern Collaborative States was seeing huge economic growth and prosperity. Eventually that faded and the prosperity moved to the Carolina province the United States.

Texas has seen its share of economic success and for a long time Florida was the convergent point of the real estate market both real and imagined. Wanna buy some swamp land in Florida? In the last 20 years or so that actual estate prosperity has shifted from the Eastern United States to the Western United States. Las Vegas has been recognized as one of the fastest growing cities in the Combined States in the past decade and Southern California has always been a spot for real estate investors to make their fortunes.

But there is one region that has been seeing a steady rise in real estate property values over the past couple of decades and has gone chiefly unnoticed. Seattle real estate has increased in value steadily for some time now and as Seattle real assets continues to increase in value as Seattle continues to grow it remains as the best kept secret in proper estate.

Back in the 1970’s the Boeing Company was just coming into its own as one of the premier manufacturer’s of commercial and military planes. At that be that as it may Seattle did not have the sprawling downtown with its majestic buildings that it has now. The tallest structure in Seattle was the Space Needle from the Terra’s Fair and it remained that way for many years. But soon talented and young engineers were settling in Seattle to work for Boeing and Seattle bona fide estate started to take off. Downtown Seattle real estate became prime land and more and more businesses began to grasp the many advantages to investing in Seattle real estate.

Smells Like Real Estate Bounty

In the late 1980’s and early 1990’s Seattle started to become known for more than just Boeing. The grunge scarp scene started in Seattle and soon Seattle real estate became even more coveted. Soon record labels were frame up shop in Seattle and musicians and artists were pouring in from all over the world to try and make it big in show business. Once again Seattle real development took off and it has not stopped.

Boeing has since announced moving most of its offices out of Seattle but with major international corporations such as Starbucks still headquartered in Seattle it looks like Seattle trusted estate will just keep on rising in value for the foreseeable future.

What Exactly Does Travel Insurance Cover me For?

Filed under: Uncategorized — logging @ 2:17 am

Many travelers ponder whether or not getting travel insurance is a necessary expense that they should shell out to protect them for a scheduled trip. Some travel insurance plans can be pretty pricey, and the fact that you may not even have to use it makes potential travelers leery about purchasing extra protection.

To determine whether or not investing in travel insurance is the right move, you need to be aware of what is covered under the typical travel insurance plan. Keep in mind that each individual plan from separate providers will be different, so each plan should be examined thoroughly before making a final decision on purchasing a plan, but here are a few key elements that should be present in most standard travel insurance plans.

Trip Cancellation

This is probably the biggest reason of all to get travel insurance, whether any unforeseen circumstance arises or not - the piece of mind that you’ll have when you know you are protected is enough for a lot of people to shell out the money. Unexpected things happen every day that could possibly have a serious impact on your travels - sudden illness, a death in the family or an act of god (tornado, earthquake, etc.) could all cause you to cancel or delay your trip. If you had purchased a travel package or non-refundable tickets you could conceivably be out quite a bit of money, but with the purchase of a travel insurance plan you could be protected for at least the majority of the cost of your trip.

Medical Expenses

Many medical providers don’t cover expenses incurred on international travel, with the purchase of an appropriate travel insurance plan you and your fellow travelers could be covered for most emergency medical treatments while on vacation due to accidents illnesses or other injuries. Emergency medical care costs can very easily run into the thousands of dollars, so if your regular insurance provider won’t extend coverage during travel or if you don’t have a regular medical insurance provider, travel insurance that covers medical expenses can be a necessity.

Lost or Delayed Baggage

Most travel insurance plans provide reimbursement for necessities like clothing and toiletries in the event that your bags are lost or delayed. This can be especially important to those travelers who have plans or business meeting shortly after they are scheduled to land. Rather than worry about what they are going to do in order to get ready for whatever their schedule has in store for them, travelers can quickly get the items they need and feel secure that they will be reimbursed for their purchases.

Accommodations Incurred during Unexpected Delays

If your trip is delayed due to an illness or injury to yourself or a travel companion, or for any number of other unexpected reasons covered by your selected plan you may be eligible for reimbursement for accommodations and expenses for other necessities during your extended stay.

Depending upon what company you choose to go with and which level of coverage you decide to opt for there may be many other ways to customize the coverage to suit your particular needs.

If you’ve never had a single problem on a business trip or vacation and you feel totally confident that your future travels will all go off without a hitch then you don’t necessarily need to purchase travelers insurance, but if you want the piece of mind that you’ll be protected against many of the unfortunately and unforeseeable problems that could occur and inhibit your travels then purchasing a plan is a sound investment. It may not be something that you’ll have to use, but if you need it you’ll be very grateful that it’s there.

Bugatti Veyron production run nearly sold out?

Filed under: Uncategorized — logging @ 6:17 am

bugatti-veryon

When Bugatti started production of the Veyron back in 2005, it was supposed to build 300 examples. For a long time, that total seemed pretty ambitious considering the seven-figure price tag on the most super of contemporary supercars, but according to Molsheim, all but 50 have been built and sold. Add to that another 150 examples of the Grand Sport roadster version and you’ve got 450. Whether special editions like the Pur Sang, Sang Noir and Hermes are counted as part of the original production figures or considered supplemental specials is insignificant, considering that only a handful of each are to be built.

The one wrinkle that has us wondering about all of these million-dollar supercars is that it was only last March when it was announced that Bugatti had sold 220 cars (of which only 132 had been built). Given how long it took them to get to 220, that seems like one heck of an order ramp-up, particularly given the state of the global economy.

The bottom line is that if you’ve been dragging your feet over whether to spend that extra million on a Bugatti or not, better make your mind up fast. Like, Veyron fast.

My way in Australia

Matt Kepnes gave up the rat race to forever explore, dream, and discovery. You can find his articles here and his daily musings at his own website, www.nomadicmatt.com

It was the third time the bus broke down. Somewhere right outside a small mining community in Western Australia, our bus had enough and it wanted us to know. With an explosion and puff of smoke, the bus came to a slow halt.

It was the end to a long broke-busjourney that began back in Perth. I was on a backpacker bus heading up to Broome. On the outskirts of the city, during our first stop was when the problems began. The bus wouldn’t start. Our driver tried again, looked under the hood, did something, and said “ok, we’re ready to go.” But not that ready. The bus still didn’t go. We were going to have to push.

Down the hill we went and on the bus went. The bus  was moving, all was right in the world, and we wouldn’t have to go back to Perth. Our wise driver tried not to turn the buss off for fear of this happening again. It was a well founded fear because soon, at the Pinnacles, our bus turned off. Out we went again, pushing as hard as we could, getting our bus moving and grooving.

In Geraldton, our driver stopped to fix the bus  and, assured it was fixed, we continued on. I wasn’t sure what the problem was and, when he explained it in car lingo, my unmechanical ears couldn’t decipher what he was saying. I was just happy the bus was moving. I didn’t feel like going back to Perth.

Pretty soon our air conditioner stopped working and we were forced to drive in a sauna, the bus amplifying the 100 degree desert heat. This wasn’t what I had expected, though I dealt with it better than some of my other riders. Having experienced worse in Asia, I wasn’t too bothered by this and I learnt to expect the unexpected. I was still in Australia after all, about to spend 2 months traveling- nothing could be that bad.

Our bus always seemed to be on its last leg and finally, that leg gave out with a large explosion. The bus clicked and clacked, grinding sounds were made, and the stick bounced up with an explosion. We all knew what had happened though none dared say it. The driver pushed the bus for a bit longer but eventually, he resigned himself to the fact that we weren’t going to reach the next town. The problem with breaking down in the outback is that there aren’t many people around and, break down too far outside the last town, and you’ll be stuck for hours, without any mobile reception. That was our case. We were stuck until a car passed to help us.

We entertained ourselves by drinking and playing trivia games. Nothing passes the time in the desert like drinking. As the day continued on, a car finally drove by. Our driver went over, explained the situation and told us he was going to get help. We would be out here for an hour by ourselves. Visions of wolf creek suddenly jumped though my head. This was going to be an interesting hour. Luckily, we still had plenty of beer.

True to his word, an hour later, our driver returned with a tow truck and we all got into town. Half our problem was solved. The half we still needed to solve was how we were going to continue on with no bus. We were told that the earliest we could get our bus back was on Tuesday. Not a big deal but it was Thursday. I wouldn’t mind spending a night in the town but not four. None of the other passengers were keen on the idea either and, after some phone calls, our driver found a four wheel drive that we six would have to cram into. A difficult task as we had two big people and the car was meant for five people- five people without luggage. It was going to be a squished trip up to Broome but at least we were on our way now.
